Airgun Hunt with Hatsan Vectis! Rabbit hunt in West Texas!

Jan 27th 2019 http://www.youtube.com/c/americanairg... I’m back in west Texas with the new lever action Hatsan Vectis .25 to hunt rabbits. After a few hours on the road, I rolled up to my first stop, and checked on the rig before my first short hunt. Inserting the proprietary fill probe and connecting up to a carbon fiber air tank, I charged the Vectis up to just under 3000 psi. My experience on the range informed me that I’d get about 20-25 shots per fill. Once the Vectis was charged, I sat down to check the zero off sticks, printing a group at 75 yards. My first 4 pellets went into a fairly decent four shot group, but slightly to the right. I made an adjustment to the left and my next 3 shots were on the money. My first hunt was to be on the following day, but a local told me that there was a spot covered with cottontails nearby, so I ran over for a look. I saw my first cottontail near a pile of rusting pipes, lined up the shot…… and rolled him. After throwing the first rabbit on ice, I started moving through the adjacent brush. A while later I spotted another one dart from one bush to another. I didn’t notice and had some camera problems and didn’t capture the next couple rabbits on video, but I managed a couple more. Notice the game carrier I’m using. These are made for waterfowl hunters but work great on almost any small game. The next morning, I got on the road and drove into the deep desert, with nothing much but oil pumps and jack rabbits I moved through the brush looking out to a 100 yards in front of me and scanning the base of the brush and cactus looking for jackrabbits laying in their scrapes. It wasn’t long before I found one. I lined up the head shot and anchored the desert hare on the spot. The lever action is fast to cycle, and has a very short cocking action. It cycled the 10 shot rotary magazine flawlessly. In case you ever wonder about camera work on these solo shots, I’m using 3-4 cameras and trying to guess where the best angles will be……… beside looking strange, I miss a lot of shots with the camera and shot opportunities with the gun trying to get it all sorted out. -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "Seneca Eagle Claw on the Prowl for Abert's Tree Squirrel" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfkfr...
