Bench + Field Test of the PARD NV007V Clip On DAY & NIGHT Scope Attachment - Now Available in the US
Night vision was once seen as an exclusive extravagance. Limited to sponsored factory shooters or military operators. Then came products full of compromise. Crappy video output, short battery life, wonky software, complicated operation or poor programming. Good products were prohibitively expensive and cheap stuff wasn't worth having and sat in drawers or got re-sold to acquaintances or on the forums.
The companies that have gotten it right have names you've heard of, even if there isn't a retailer locally to buy from. For me, PARD was on that list. Guys in the UK like @RussDouglas 222 have done reviews, and these seemed like units worth having. Then other companies made units that looked eerily similar. What do they say...Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery?
I jumped through some hoops to get my hands on one of those units about a year ago, because no one in the US seemed to be selling the PARD brand. I now regret that purchase for two reasons. One is quality, the other is warranty. I liked the form-factor and features, but not the quality (or lack of) and execution. The plastic was more plastic, the battery setup was problematic, and the video was lackluster.
Enter North East Airguns with an answer to my dreams. The Boys from Massachusetts are now importers of the NV007V, and you can get one for under $400. https://northeastairguns.com/
The unit comes with a factory mount, but EagleVisionCam makes a better one. Period. Don't try to debate it, just get one.

This is an affiliate link, and I do get a small kickback if you follow my link to EagleVision's site...full disclosure. You can also get one from North East Airguns. I don't care, just get one as it makes everything super easy.
You can be up and running with this clip on in minutes, and because you are using your scope for aiming, all of your dope, your turret tape, your holdover points...all of it is set and ready to go with no change.
In this video I'm going to show you how the output footage looks through three scopes. A Hawke AirMax 4-16 FFP, an Element Optics Helix 4-16 FFP and another Helix in 6-24 SFP trim. We will shoot some steel targets and look at paper in day and night mode, AND THERE WILL BE SOME PEST CONTROL, so you've been warned if you need warnings for stuff like that. We were out after sparrows and found starlings. Lots of starlings! There's some other footage I think some of you will find interesting.
I don't want to giver too much away but for under $400 you get a quality unit that outputs good video on a variety of scopes, sets up easily and it's available from someone you can call if there is a problem. People in other countries have had access to these units for a while, so the bugs have been worked out, and as far as I'm concerned this one is a winner.
