Airguns Don't Have Enough Take Down Power for Deer Hunting

Oct 3rd 2019 STOP THE HUNTER ON HUNTER VIOLENCE! I hope this video helps. This 90 pound field dressed Doe was taken with the AirForce Texan .45 with a 290 grain HP slug at 68 yards hard quartering shot. This slug went through the liver - both lungs - and broke through the back front shoulder. Sooooo....... This is now year #3 here in Michigan I have elected to use a Big Bore Airgun instead of a powder burner (firearm) for all of my Deer hunting. And for the 3rd year in a row I have this same reoccurring stupid conversation with a fellow hunter in a sporting goods store. Every year I stumble into a conversation with a fellow hunter and for some reason it always seems to be a "high minded" archery hunter who likes to try and school me on "ethical hunting". This year it was with a gentleman buying his Deer license and some broad heads at our local Gander Outdoors. Long story short, I asked this guy how he liked the Rage Hypodermic Mechanical Broad heads he was buying. I just simply asked if they always opened on impact and told him that I hoped to bee using something similar during the firearm season if Michigan HB 4332 (formerly HB5180) as an approved projectile during firearm Deer season. Read here: http://www.legislature.mi.gov/(S(giml... I went onto talking to him about how great if we could allow disabled hunters and specifically disabled veterans to use airguns to shoot arrows vs. crossbows during the archery season. The guy came UNGLUED! You would have thought I shot his dog. I went on to listen to the "slippery slope" argument using crossbows as an example and how it will basically ruin HIS hunting. GIVE ME ONE LEGITIMATE EXAMPLE OF HOW CROSSBOWS RUINED YOUR HUNTING EXPERIENCE. ONE! He crossed a line when he went on to say airguns shouldn't even be allowed for firearm season. This video is for this guy and for anyone who hasn't peeked into the airgunner world to see what we have been up to. So stop the HUNTER ON HUNTER violence! There are enough Deer in the woods and my choice of harvesting that game is in no way affecting your hunt. This all comes down to some hunters protecting their opportunity to harvest the biggest antlers to hang in their man cave and we all know it. So was this an isolated conversation? NOPE! There are entire associations within our hunting community taking these protectionist stances. Read this craziness: http://www.legislature.mi.gov/documen... Against: Critics of the bill argue that there is no need to allow the use of a pneumatic gun for hunting, even for disabled individuals. If a disabled person can function a pneumatic gun, then they can function a shotgun with small slugs as those weapons operate similarly. Additionally, if a disabled person is unable to use a current allowable weapon, then that person would have great difficulty field dressing a deer. As such, that individual would still need assistance when hunting and would not have true independence in Michigan’s outdoors. Opponents of the bill also argue that allowing persons with disabilities to use pneumatic guns could lead to allowing all hunters to use pneumatic guns. This exact scenario occurred with crossbows, where use was only allowed for disabled persons, but then expended to all persons. Critics were concerned that expanding further use of pneumatic guns would detrimentally affect deer populations because a pneumatic gun is very easy to use and would make hunting deer easier.
