Tuning - FX Dreamline Compact Tuning Guide

16 February 2020 / 907 views / 910 Airgun Tuning & Repairs

A full tuning tutorial for the FX Dreamline Compact! The rifle in this video is a 0.22 caliber, but the methods and techniques for tuning reflect to all calibers.
In this video, you will learn how to adjust your transfer port setting, hammer spring adjuster, and your regulator setting to fine tune the rifle to shoot the velocities you are wishing to achieve.
Please keep in mind that the Compacts have much shorter barrels than the standard versions. Due to the shorter barrel, the velocities, even with the rifle maxed out, are much much lower than a standard version of the FX Dreamline. The 0.22 caliber has a 320mm barrel (standard is 500mm) and the 0.25 caliber has a 390mm barrel (standard is 600mm). With this being said, please do not expect to be able to shoot heavier pellets/slugs or have accuracy at long range. Also, the Compact has a much smaller air cylinder, so if you do tune up the rifle, you will have a very low shot count.

Here is a quick list of the velocities per pellet grain weight that are suggested per caliber for the best accuracy for the Dreamline Compact:
0.177 caliber = 880-900 FPS with 8.44gr JSB (320mm barrel)
0.22 caliber = 860-880 FPS with 15.89gr JSB (320mm barrel)
0.25 caliber = 820-840 FPS with 25.39gr JSB (390mm barrel)

Also, the regulator will be set around 140-160Bar, depending on your ammo and caliber.

**Note** Other grain weights of pellets will perform better at different velocities. The best accuracy is always up to the shooter to discover, above mentioned are just common ranges of velocities found for the best accuracy with the accompanied pellet grain weight.
